Aisling Bea

Aisling is an Irish-born comedian, who's been performing for a long time. She was born in Kildare, Ireland on 16th March 1984. Bea was on QI along with Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh (born 16 March 1984) is a stand-up comedian and actress from Ireland. Bea's career began in the year 2011 when she began her career as a comic after appearing in small roles in Irish and British television shows beginning in 2009. As early as 2012 Bea began appearing on sketch comedy shows or sitcoms. In 2012, following her was awarded an award at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards (ECA) in 2012, she began appearing frequently in panel programs. She was captain of the 8 Out of 10 Cats team between 2016 and 2017 and is regularly a contestant on the spinoff, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Her parents were Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan and has a sister named Sinead. In 2012, she was the only woman in history to be awarded the So You think That You're Funny award. Bea's surname is in honour of her father who passed away. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan is a Kildare woman who was born in Kildare. She was born the 16th of March, 1984. Her father Brian was a veterinarian for horses who committed suicide aged three. But, she didn't discover the reason of death until 13 years later. Bea was her stage name. Bea is a tribute to her father. She published an opinion piece in The Guardian, published in 2017 about her experiences with suicide. Bea's mother Helen was also a trainer for jockeys as well as a former professional jockey, was the one responsible for raising her and Sinead. The family was awed by horses, race meetings and racing. Bea began her career as a tour-guide for the Irish National Stud. However Bea knew early that racing wasn't for her.
