His comedic performances earned him recognition and a lucrative film career. The actor gained further recognition by playing the titular character in Tim Burton's Batman. In his later years and grew older, he began to venture into producing and acting in. As a result of his performance in Birdman (2014) the actor received numerous awards and nominations.
